The Grateful Dead

The Grateful Dead

It’s all in the name! The Grateful Dead is your classic “one-a-night” cocktail. But that’s a loosely defined rule at best, more like a guideline really.

The Grateful Dead is right up there with the Long Island Iced Tea and AMF in terms of the few cocktails that can uniquely define a night. Yet, when it’s enjoyed responsibly, it’s an amazingly smooth and fruity drink that’s well worth a try!

Overview of the Grateful Dead

The Grateful Dead packs a delightfully delicious punch and easily rivals the Classic Margarita as a great means of escaping reality. The cocktail recipe includes four different spirits (tequila, vodka, gin, and rum), two liqueurs (orange and raspberry), and a hefty dose of sweet and sour mix. The spirits blend beautifully in the glass, while each liqueur adds its own dose of citrus and fruity sweetness.

Finally, the sweet and sour mix ties everything together with an astute kick to the palate, preoccupying your taste buds just long enough you forget to search for anything else except sweet bliss. Resulting in a far too easily drinkable combination that’ll soon have you reliving your glory days, professing undying love, or both.
